Updates from Fred Walker Legacy – Honduras
Fred Walker is now in Heaven with his wife Eileen. He was Pastor of Jesus Chapel in El Paso for many years. Fred and Eileen lived their adult lives with an overwhelming passion for missions, especially to the people of Mexico. Their passion for missions is continuing, not only in their own kids, grandkids, great grandkids and great-great grandkids, but in thousands of spiritual sons and daughters.
Here is a big project we’re currently working on:
Charlie’s Lunch in San Pedro Sula, Honduras.
Charlie’s Lunch is a ministry led by Sam and Janey Stewart that provides a feeding center program for children in need in many of the most impoverished areas of the world. This is done in partnership with a local church, where children and their families are taught and discipled in the way of Jesus.
What we've accomplished
Through the Fred Walker Legacy Fund, we have built a kitchen for Charlie’s Lunch to operate at the “Day of Salvation” Assembly of God Church in a village in the mountains above San Pedro Sula, Honduras. Pastors Alex and Anita Perdomo Valle pastor this church and also serve as the Directors for Charlie’s Lunch in Honduras. The village is in a remote area where most villagers are either Atheist or practice a very legalistic form of Catholicism. They have a vision to enroll and care for 60 children in this program.
Objectives to achieve
Our vision is to raise the $21,000 necessary to start and provide for this program for the next three years. Read more about Charlie's Lunch: charlieslunch.com
